Few things in life are better than having a wave to yourself with just a couple friends. Sometimes people will go to ugly lengths to keep a wave to themselves, but you can’t dispute that it’d be hard to give up a little privacy if you ever lucked into a place nobody else knew about.
For Rory Bushfield and a few of his friends there isn’t much to do to keep their little “secret” spot a secret. Since they have to hop on Rory’s 1950’s single prop plane just to get to the wave near Tofino, BC there isn’t exactly a ton of competition. The fact that so many people in the area are looking for backcountry lines to charge helps a little too. But it turns out this wave is one of those secrets that’s been passed down for generations now, with what started as a hammock on the beach turning into a full on surf shack. It’s not a bad little get away if you ask us.
