When the first trailer came out back in June, we were pretty damn excited. There were even whispers that having been influenced by the likes of Bruce Brown — along with being shot in 16-millimeter film — Strange Rumblings In Shangri La might very well be the current generation’s Endless Summer. Then the film premiered, and everyone’s excitement and anticipation were realized in one hair-raising edit of a globe-trottin’, surf-stompin’ romp around the world. From Iceland to Mozambique and France to Brazil, as well as along the coastlines of Indonesia, the boys made good in the furthest reaches of the world, discovering waves and making all sorts of fun.

Beyond the beautiful breaks and exotic backdrops, there is plenty more in the offerings. This film was directed by none other than visionary Joe G and has one hell of a cast: Dion Agius, Nate Tyler, Taj Burrow, Creed McTaggart, CJ Hobgood, Damien Hobgood, Brendon Gibbens, Yadin Nicol, and Noa Deane – making for a nice reminder that the Globe Team is stacked to the gills. And they definitely get after it.
