Surfer and shark attack survivor, Jimmy “Ulu Boi” Napeahi, takes us through his hometown on the Big Island of Hawaii to relive his traumatic run-in with the shark that nearly took his life, had it not been for his fast-acting heroes.

Following the detailed account of the incident, Ulu Boi invites us to into home and shows us the pure, natural Hawaiian life that thousands of Hawaiians continue to live even in the resource-exploiting-power-hungry–technology-driven current state of civilization. In Ulu Boi’s home, there is no running water. No conventional toilets and no cell phone reception. A generator provides electricity and their food is grown fresh in their own yard. All they need to survive is love, land, family, and aloha vibes.
