Found yourself craving an adventure lately? Antarctica might satiate you if you’re willing to travel a long way, brave unholy temperatures and pull on thick layers of neoprene. You’ll need some patience too as swells in Antarctica aren’t as prevalent as Australia or California, for example.
Dan Malloy and Ramón Navarro traveled to Antarctica to tow in to large waves, but they didn’t seem to score anything big or noteworthy. However, the two did get some small waves and that makes it all worth it because their trying adventure was rewarded in the end. After braving the elements, there were surfable freezing waves at the end of the tunnel. And that is all that must exist for an adventure to be worthwhile. No palm trees, cerulean blue water or coconuts necessary.
