This image was shot on an editorial trip to Northern Fiji. The waves never showed up, but the sunsets seemed to make up for it every evening. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

I shot this one with a 600mm while in the Dominican Republic several years ago with Losness and Curran. I literally swung the lens directly behind me on the tripod and snapped a few before resuming to shoot the action in the water. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

Tavarua with an injured, yet still ripping Dusty Payne. Hey, if you’re gonna get an ass in your face, you might as well compliment it with a glorious sunset. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

Hmmm…What can I say about this place? Uhhh…it’s not the Carribbean. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

Acid drop at Blacks. This is an image of an old friend, Patrick Reilly, dropping into a Blacks set on one of the craziest evenings I’ve ever witnessed in the water…anywhere. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

I like this image because it reminds me of those sessions with only a couple friends in the water trading waves and witnessing each other’s. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

Eli Mirandon and I were in Portugal about four years ago, and we got this place really good. The best part was that all the locals were surfing together on a peak where the waves were smaller. Eli and I had this lone peak all to ourselves for a couple hours. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

This image was shot in Nicaragua during one of those eerie moments when it gets really calm before a crazy storm hits. These green almonds rolled in for about 10 minutes before it got spooky dark. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

This wave is right down the street from my house but I rarely see it this good. I have seen it super crowded on a shitty day though. Hmmm…weird. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

I see dolphins all the time when I’m swimming but I have yet to get an image of one that I’m proud of. This is probably my favorite dolphin photo. Shot in Oceanside during a good run of south swell, offshore wind, and wildfire smoke. Photo: AnthonyGhiglia.com/AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com

For me, a successful surf image is one that makes the viewer wish they had witnessed that moment in person. As surfers and travelers, we are fortunate to witness some of the most awe-inspiring moments in the water. Thanks for letting me share some of my favorite moments with you.
