Yesterday, we found out that Peter Mel, ex-Big Wave Tour Commissioner and all-around big wave aficionado, was back on the roster for 2017’s first BWT event. It was good news because, as great as Mel was navigating the multitude of speed bumps that are involved in setting up a BWT event, he’s better at surfing giant waves. And now, with the Puerto Escondido event right around the corner (tomorrow!), Mel has stepped into the batter’s box for a few warm up waves.
