From a very early age, Owen Wright knew he wanted to be a professional surfer on the WCT. From a very early age, he knew he would. When he was 20, those dreams were realized as he qualified after three months on the ‘QS. He went on to win Rookie of the Year and finish in seventh place.
Unfortunately, after suffering a debilitating lower back injury at Bells in 2013, he was relegated to the sidelines to watch the rest of the tour duke it out. Now, with the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast on the horizon, Owen’s been given an injury wildcard for the 2014 tour season. The obvious questions of “Is he ready?” and “How will he do?” loom large. We’ll find out as he returns to action this weekend at Snapper.
