Kama the pig came into the lives of Kai Holt and his family while on a camping trip at Bellows Beach on O’ahu. Baby Kama, orphaned by his mother, wandered into the Holt’s campsite. The Holts embraced Kama as one of their family and took him into their home.
One day, he fell into the swimming pool and started swimming. Kai took Kama surfing with him once he found out he was already an avid swimmer. They caught their first wave together at Baby Makapu’u. Kama favors 3-4 foot waves and is known as the mascot of Sandy Beach. He occasionally wears GoPros for collars too. But only when he’s hanging hooves at his favorite beachbreak.
