The Inertia

Jeremy Flores is a pretty outspoken guy. Never one to shy away from controversy, he threw his hat in the ring with the rest of the professionals who are upset with the judging. So far, we’ve got Tom Carroll, Gabriel Medina, Matt Wilkinson, Matt Meola, and Julian Wilson all being very vocal about what they see as a series of terrible calls from the judging booth.

It’s a strange thing–all anyone really wants is an explanation. Remember when Kelly got his 4.17 and the ensuing outrage? The WSL came out with an explanation, and everyone went home reasonably happy. So here’s what Flores had to say via Instagram:

Hahahahh too funny now I see everyone posting shit about bad judging and all on social media everywhereeeee…. I’ve just Been saying it for the last 6 years & got fined a million of Times for asking explanations. Now everyone is finally waking up. The judging at the moment is way too amateur for How big the sport has become. We have contracts, debts, sponsors, bonuses. We have dedicated everything to be at this level. We have all contributed to progressing our sport. Let’s improve so that the next generation doesn’t have to deal with this. Don’t get me wrong, it must be tough to be a judge, it’s a hard job but If there isn’t good enough judging then there shouldn’t be that much money involved. Simple as that ! #IshutUpForTooLong #TannerRips #MedinaRips #EveryoneRips
