At just 21 years old, Miguel Blanco is one of Portugal’s most respected surfers right now. He’s a rising star for his progressive, high-performance surfing approach as well as standing out for chasing hardcore slabs and big waves. With four Hawaiian seasons under his belt, Miguel is making a name for himself and represents the future of his Portuguese generation. As a competitor, Miguel took 2nd place on the WQS Zarautz 2016, won the European Volcom 2016, and won the European Pro Junior Caparica 2015.
Blanco spent most of this winter in the Pacific and Indian ocean, but before hitting the road he managed to score some quality time at home. “Birds” was filmed during the cold Portuguese winter and features some of Blanco’s favorite spots along our beautiful West Coast, a wide variety of waves, and glimpses of places like Cascais, Cave in Ericeira, Supertubos, and Nazaré.
