The Inertia

Hurley has one of the best surf teams ever assembled. With guys like John John, Filipe Toledo, Kolohe and Jules, they’re unstoppable. Although neither of the aforementioned guys have won a world title, they are undeniably podium material and some of the most progressive surfers on the planet. And it’s no surprise that Hurley also looks toward the younger generations of surfers, fostering their skills for future dominance.

A new video series titled Hurley Youth will profile five of these miniature freaks of surf. Included in the series will be Tahiti’s Matahi Drollet (17), California’s Nick (14) and Jake Marshall (16), and North Carolina’s Stevie Pittman (15). The new trailer for the series gives just a taste of the progression that these kids got up their sleeve. And it’s frightening. They’re like genetically modified super surfers. They’re like the Monstars from Space Jam. They’re a bunch of child prodigies with the power to one day reshape the entire surfing landscape. The sport may never be the same, but screw it…at least it’ll be awesome to watch.
