In a world saturated by short and sporadic online clips, Volcom continues to release feature-length surf films. The latest from Veeco Productions is Psychic Migrations, a cinematic journey of surf, sun and seashells. The newly released trailer features Volcom riders masking their faces with shells, leaves and dried reef before teasing the film’s surfing. With the Volcom team’s wide array of talents, the Psychic Migrations trailer hits on a multitude of surfing styles. Ryan Burch carves up a left pointbreak on a fish. Yago Dora hucks a huge air. Ozzie Wright pulls into a heaving slab. And to the careful eye, the video appears to feature a very special cameo. A list on Volcom’s website shows the featured riders and it includes Kelly Slater. Makes sense since Jimmy Slade ‘s clothing company Outerknown is owned by The Kering Group, which also owns Volcom.
