The Inertia

Dolphins vs. shark? Polar bear vs. killer whale? Alligator vs. tiger? None of those hold a candle to the fire that burns in the timeless feud pitting… seal vs. octopus? Wait, what? Really? Didn’t know either of them had a bone to pick with each other.

According to CBC News, “a fight between a harbour seal and giant pacific octopus in the waters off Victoria’s Ogden Point on Monday drew a crowd of onlookers.” And, apparently, this isn’t the first interspecies fight. Here is video taken during another fight two years ago at the same location.

Onlookers said this time around wasn’t so much a fight as an exhibition by the seal who had handily (!) beat its tentacled foe.

Show off.
