Pro surfer/model Anastasia Ashley announced in a Facebook video Monday that she’ll appear on the next season of the Discovery Channel hit show “Naked and Afraid.”
In the video, Ashley explains that she’s currently in Big Bear, California doing survival training to prepare for the show.
“I’m learning how to make ropes here with leaves, I’m learning how to make a shack, like a hut or a beach shack, and I’m learning how to catch my own food,” she says.
Ashley won’t be the first professional female surfer to be on the show. She’s following in the footsteps of Alison Teal.
According to the post, she’ll be going into the jungle next week to begin filming the show, the premise of which is to put a number of survivalist teams (each with one man and one woman) in the wilderness to see if they can survive for 21 days. Together they must find food and water, make shelter and clothing, and employ additional survival strategies completely on their own. Details about when the show will air on the Discovery Channel are still forthcoming.
