As you know, the Pe’ahi Challenge went down, and it did not disappoint. Waves in excess of 40 feet poured through one of the world’s most famous lineups, and the world’s best big wave surfers tested their mettle. It’s a terrifying event to watch, even over a webcast. One can only imagine how terrifying it would be to stare down the face of one of those waves–and for most people, imagining is as close as they’ll ever get. Only a select few have the ability to ride waves like those at Jaws.
