The Inertia

On December 7th, the North Shore community was slammed by horrific news. Thelma Boinville, a woman known and loved by many, was senselessly murdered in a rental home she was cleaning. Her daughter, 8-year-old Makana, was tied up in the house when it happened.

The community rallied to find the alleged murders. After authorities released a description of the vehicle they might’ve been in, it was quickly found at a Mililani WalMart parking lot by social media users. The police descended on it, and an arrest was made amid of crowd of cheering onlookers.

Now, of course, there is sadness and anger on the normally idyllic streets. But through it all, one thing is clear: the community on the North Shore is a close one, full of supportive, loving people. A Gofundme has been set up for Makana, and at the time of publishing, nearly half of the $100,000 goal has been reached. You should help, too.

Our sincerest condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.
