Plenty of avalanches happen on in-bounds terrain, especially after heavy snows. Mares airs into a steep section and then gets carried down the mountain. He was lucky to be able to stay on top of the slide. “Sorry for blowing up media today,” he said on his Instagram account. “But it’s one of those unfortunate kinda days.”
