High-intensity training has become increasingly popular the past several years. Instead of gradually burning energy and building strength through slower-paced exercises, HIIT pushes your muscles to their limits through quick bursts of all-out energy. The great thing about HIIT is that you can accomplish much more in a shorter amount of time, and if anything, it works your muscles even more. This workout burns 300 calories in just 24 minutes, and it tones the abs, arms, back, butt, core, legs and shoulders. That being said, HIIT certainly isn’t for everyone, so please use caution if you haven’t trained at this intensity before. Also, be sure to do a proper warm up to loosen up muscles to prevent injury. Stretch afterward to help prevent soreness and stiffness.
