Lisa Be is an artist from Long Beach, New York, who spends her days protecting and advocating on behalf of our most important resource: water. Upon returning to the barrier island after Hurricane Sandy, she founded L.B. KIDS--an arts organization dedicated to environmentally sustainable public art projects. Using art as a means of communication, her goal is to educate and motivate today's youth to stand up for the future of their environment. Lisa is one of the founding members of Project Vortex--an international coalition of artists dedicated to intercepting the plastic waste stream and supporting environmental research and clean-up efforts worldwide. Currently, Lisa is working tirelessly on the campaign to ban plastic bags in Long Beach, N.Y.
