Holly Beck is a semi-retired professional surfer with a degree in psychology from UCSD who after nearly 10 years traveling for photos and competing on the WQS began looking for something more fulfilling to do with her life. She has been living full time in a remote village in Northern Nicaragua since 2010, surfing relatively uncrowded but increasingly popular waves while striving to live simply and environmentally friendly in a thatched roof cabana with a composting toilet, and inspiring women to overcome fear and achieve their dreams through running Surf With Amigas women's surf and yoga retreats. She has partnered with the non-profit Waves Of Hope to help out the local community, primarily focusing on providing better educational opportunities for children in the area.
