At 24 years old, Chris Burkard has accomplished a style and composition all his own. Through his photography, Chris strives to capture the moments in between, and to document the lifestyle of the sport, not just the action. Currently, Chris serves as staff photographer for SURFER Magazine, and submits images to various international publications. Within the last five years, Burkard has been recognized as the First Annual Follow the Light Award Winner, invited to the 2010 Look Between Festival, and named the 2010 Red Bull Illume Image Quest Overall Winner. Through these incredible opportunities, Chris has been able to create a coffee table book with his friend and co-author Eric Soderquist, called The California Surf Project. Burkard continues to travel the world seeking to experience the most remote, rugged, and untouched destinations that exist.
